I find that this spreadsheet generally works with versions of Excel
called 2003 or earlier. With Excel 2007, I am aware that it might not
work. For detailed instructions, after saving the spreadsheet to your
hard drive and clicking on it to start it, click on the tab called
"Instructions" at the bottom of your screeen. (You might need to
scroll down to see this).
If you get a error message stating that macros need to be enabled,
follow these instructions to enable macros: Click on "Tools", "Macro",
"Security", "Low", "OK". Then, click on "File", "Save As.." to resave
the spreadsheet to your hard drive. When you re-open it, I hope it will
work. If you would rather use a spreadsheet that doesn't contain
macros, I recommend trying the one linked to lower on http://www.salemstate.edu/~arosenthal/mat108
called "A spreadsheet, rowop.xls, that will perform
Gaussian elimination on most matrices up to 3x4".
(To use this, you might need to (1) save rowop.xls to your hard disk,
by
right
clicking and using "Save target as" with Internet Explorer or using
"Save link target as" with Netscape and then (2) double click on
rowop.xls. After the first time, only step (2) will need to be
done.)
If you want to use an excellent spreadsheet to help solve Su Doku, I
recomment the one linked to at http://www.harismind.com/sudoku.html
.
