Tall Ships

After graduating from Bates College in 1997, I decided to explore the seven seas and signed on as a deckhand on the tall ship Rose on a Canadian Maritimes tour. Two years later I was a licensed merchant mariner, had sailed on four different tall ships, and two different oceans. What a great experience, but nothing could hold me back from getting back into studying the fascinating world of MUD. And so the adventure ended, but my memories bring me back to sea often. I will be scanning some personal pictures soon for you all to see!

Here is the Rose off the coast of Newfoundland during the summer of 1997. I was at the helm. Lucky for us all that I steered a true course!!
