                                    Identity

        I strive
        to find a great white silence, unchartered, infinite,
        inviolate of ways and means;

        a stillness of the mind,
        bearing sounds only of
        the understanding stars,
        the sun, and perhaps,
        the repetitions of the rain.

        And there, upon that solitary plain, I'd meet someone 
        I used to know, and who, strangely, bears my name.
