Reading Schedule

GLS100 section 1 Fall 2011

Reading #1: Please carefully read through the syllabus. You are responsible for all class requirements. This should be completed by now.

Reading #2: Please read chapter 1: An introduction to Geology. The entire chapter is useful but we will focus on the following sections (The nature of scientific inquiry, Earth's internal structure). The remaining sections in this chapter are great introductions to many of the major topics we will cover in the course during the semester and introducing yourself to them now will help you greatly. This should be completed by Thursday 9/13.

Reading #3: Please read chapter 15 on Plate Tectonics. Read the entire chapter. Plate tectonics serves as the foundation of modern geology and this course. Many of the concepts learned in this chapter are directly relavent to material in every other chapter. This should be completed by Tuesday 9/20.
