| Northern New England was a place apart in
its early days of settlement, quite different from the Puritan colonies
of southern New England. New Hampshire and Maine were initially proprietary
colonies, loyal to the king and the Church of England. This site is an
on-going effort to bring together historical and archaeological research,
as well as primary documents related to the place early European explorers
called the land of Norumbega. |
