If a student is absent more than two (2) days, no make-up work will be allowed without proof of emergency or illness. The University has a more lenient absence policy regarding the H1N1 flu. Please let the professor know if you have contracted the H1N1 flu. If a student is absent for ANY reason, the student will be required to take the final exam, even if the student has an "A" average. The reason for the absence is irrelevant.Applying SolutionsStudents will apply what they have learned each week by creating a new computer project. Many of the skills learned and used in previous projects will have to be applied in subsequent projects.Class ParticipationFeedback is expected/required from the students when asked questions in class by the professor.Computer SkillsStudents will learn how to type word processing documents, use the web for research, create eye-catching presentations, perform common mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages, maximums, minimums) using spreadsheet software and design and create basic databases containing online forms and reports. Here are some of the specific skills sets covered each week.Online Cooperative LearningStudents may be asked to post questions to fellow students via online groups or a class blog, about weekly assignments. "Wise" students will share their email addresses with their classmates and ask each other questions about the assignments, or share notes if someone was absent.Getting HelpStudents should ask questions when they don't understand something. It is the student's responsibility to ask for help when needed. The professor will clarify what is expected, but may choose not to answer "how do I" questions for topics that were covered in the lecture portion of the class. Students are required to take notes to assist them in doing their weekly out-of-class projects.Technology Dictionary
