Recommendation letters: I am happy to write thoughtful recommendation letters for students who have done an excellent job in my classes. If you wish to request that I write a recommendation letter for you, please click here.

Future graduate course announcements: I will teach Real Analysis II in the first summer session of 2008, and Analytic Number Theory in the autumn of 2008. I have not yet decided what book to use in Real Analysis II, but I will make my decision known on this page as soon as I arrive to it. As for Analytic Number Theory, the prerequisite for that course should be excellent calculus skills, and nothing else. (We will be working with infinite sums, integrals, etc, throughout.) We will be using Apostol's book "Introduction to Analytic Number Theory," published by Springer-Verlag. It is noteworthy that the back cover of this book says that the book's first ten chapters are accessible to any student with a solid background in calculus, and the final four chapters require exposure to complex variables. We will aim to cover the first ten chapters of the book only.
