//////////////////////Annual Report Design

Create an annual report for a publicly traded corporation.
An annual report contains a number of valuable design problems to be solved. There are pages that are like a magazine, pages that are like a brochure and pages that contain large amounts of information within tables. The goal of this assignment is to build on your experience in magazine design to tackle a more varied problem

Text may be gathered from the PDF or HTML Annual Reports to be found on line.
Be sure that images are as high-quality as possible (you may use photos other than those provided--best kind: the ones you take yourself!)

Required Features things that must be used in your file:
An underlying grid, Style Sheets(object, character and paragraph), Master Pages, Linked text boxes, Library, and Tables

Also photos must be saved as CMYK TIFFs.

*Use Pantone solid coated colors for spot colors

*Design must have at least one clipping path from photoshop.

Parts of the Annual Report:

Cover: front/back/spine: sets the tone for the rest of the design…be sure to consider the size of the piece

Letter to Stockholders: 2 pages: Letter from CEO or other high-level executive

Media Packet: 6 pages: features products/services/achievements and is formatted like a glossy brochure

Financial highlights: 2 pages: A combination of text and graphical presentation of the most prominent statistics

Financial Statements: 4 pages total: Choose from the sections below to create pages with tables. Be sure to indicate what section you are using. Sections: Earnings, Stock performance, Financial Performance, Cash Flow, others? Let me know what you want me to consider.

//////////////////////Product Catalog Design

Create a catalog containing at least 50 different products.
The company and the type of products are your choice. I must approve of your choice.

It is OK to use the same company for which you are designing an annual report.

Create a design that captures the right look and feel for its market (Old? Young? Male? Female? Middle-Income? Wealthy?) while also solving the practical design problems of making product descriptions/images/prices easy to access.

Text may be gathered from the PDF or HTML catalogs or sites to be found on line. Be sure that images are as high quality as possible. Consider other sources for images beyond web sites—take your won photos or make your own illustrations.

Features that must be used in your file:
Styles (for type and objects), Master Pages, Linked text boxes, images

Photos must be saved as CMYK TIFFs.

Use Pantone solid coated colors for any spot colors

Rough Designs due on screen: Wed. 12.1
Final due in class Wed 12.8

Print out files from inkjet. *Mount pages on black museum board.

*You may make a booklet instead of mounting pages on black boards.

/////////////////REMINDER: FINAL FILES FOR CLASS

All final files for entire class due on DVD on Tuesday December 14 at 9AM (submit both a PDF and your packaged original files collected into a folder). Your grade is based heavily on the condition of your files. This is when you can re-submit files for previous assignments--please note ones to be reconsidered.
