Final
Assignment: ------------------------------------------------------------------------
They love your designs and now they want more
...and you are the Art Director!
When a company has developed an identity program, designs that are
created beyond letterhead, etc. should be created so as to reinforce
the concept behind the identity. All together, these pieces form "the brand". The look and feel of the website, the
attitude of an animated piece, the atmosphere of a trade show booth
must reflect the concept that was born in the creation of the initial
identity.
An art director must be aware of all the details: colors, typefaces,
images, use of space, (yes, even language!) and above all the mission of the company.
Choose
four from the six pieces below and complete designs to present to the class:
Web
Site Design (non functioning--OK to make in Illustrator or Photoshop) this should at least include a home page and one page within the site.
Animation (use the "fast" animation below as an example...think web intro/banner ad that could have implications for the web, TV, Mobile, etc.)...What is expected of this assignment can be done using the built-in tutorials in the Flash software.
Environmental Design:Examples: Concept
for Trade Show booth/ Store Interior (point of purchase designs, in-store signs, etc)
A series of three (3)
Ads based on one concept...illustrate where the ads would run (magazine, billboard, bus stop). Be sure that the
concepts have a theme that carefully and creatively promote the branding message
of your company.
Package Design: this can range from boxes, to bags, labels, etc.
Promotional Design: alternative ways of promotion that use the method of promotion as much as the visual material.
example: the art institute of chicago's red cube project: link HERE
Grading on this final assignment will consider your method for presenting
these concepts as well as the success of the design in maintaining the brand. Every student
will be expected to explain the concepts behind the work.
