Professional Writing

Mission Statement

The Professional Writing Program at Salem State University will educate students in the context of the liberal arts and the study of English language and literature  to the critical thinking, collaborative temperament, and writing skills required for leadership in profit and nonprofit business, government, and education. As knowledge workers in the 21st century who are adept at digital and traditional publishing mechanisms, professional writers identify, access, harvest, process, create, and disseminate information in a variety of formats that include text, graphics, and video.
