THE REBECCA NURSE HOMESTEAD

DANVERS, MA

The Rebecca Nurse homestead is a ‘first period’ colonial saltbox and the home of Rebecca Nurse—tragically hung as witch as a result of the Salem witch trials of 1692.

Although the dwelling is in place there are no outbuildings evident.  The research objectives of this work will be to locate outbuildings, trash dumps etc— all fruitful targets for further archaeological examination.  This work will be conducted through the spring of 2008 and into the summer of 2008.
