The Department of Geological Sciences has a full spectrum of equipment that I regularly use in my research. The major field equipment includes:

Sokkia prismless total stations for quick surveying of the sites

CMT GPS units with real time differential correction for accurate positioning via satellite

Syscal Kid Switch 24 electrode electrical resistivity meter

Smartseis 12 channel seismograph

Geometrics 856 magnetometer with gradiometer

GSSI ground penetrating radar with 200, 400 and 900Mhz antenna

GSSI EMP 400 multi frequency domain electromagnetic induction instrument

 

Back at the lab we have a full suite of dedicated software, computers, printers and plotters to process the field data.
