The Rewards of Teaching at Salem State College

My approach to teaching is based on my experience preparing students for the realities of professional careers in the Communications industries. To accomplish this, I draw on my own three-decade career as a professional writer, magazine editor, corporate manager, consultant and trainer.

What makes Salem State College a particularly happy campus for me has been the many close connections I have made with students. As alumni, these students have kept me informed of their successes academically and professionally. Nothing is so rewarding for me than to see my students land jobs, get promoted, publish articles, go on to graduate school and find other kinds of success and fulfillment in their lives.

I have taught at numerous colleges and universities in Boston and Los Angeles. Nowhere have I found that I could succeed in making such a difference so often in so many lives.
