to work as a writing consultant and trainer with firms in the
Communications industries, including public relations agencies
and a range of corporations. I have written a large number of
business documents, from press releases and annual reports to
advertising copy and executive speeches. Such is the typical
work of writers in corporate environments. For the past l4 years,
I have been senior editorial consultant to a leading firm specializing
in "investor relations," a type of financially oriented
